To Visit Pisa
Go to SMN Train Station and catch a train For "Pisa Centrale" station.
Trains for Pisa are generally every hour, no reservation required,
Choose the ones with travel time of about 1 hour..
Total walk path is 1,9km and 24 minutes walk time.
Exiting the Pisa Central Station
walk in front of the station to Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II
Then walk for all 'Corso Italia'
and reach the Arno river.
Go beyound the 'Ponte di Mezzo' bridge.
Fromt the bridge, enter 'Borgo Stretto'
and turn left in via 'Ulisse Dini'.
After a few meters if you like a quick and
very cheap lunch, you can go to Pizzeria
'Il Montino', where you can taste very
typical 'Focaccia con la cecina' or
'Focaccia con cecina e melanzane'
made with chickpea flour and eggplant.
Then proceed to Piazza dei Cavalieri,
head office of famous 'Normale' University
Leave Piazza dei Cavalieri and
follow Via Corsica and Via dei Mille, then
turn right in Via Santa Maria
end reach Piazza dei Miracoli.
Miracle square with the leaning tower is amazing, expecially under the sunlight when the white marble contrasts with the green of the lawn.
You can have a walk on the old wall if you like, but apart from that there's not much else to visit in Pisa.
To return to Florence you can follow the same instructions backwards.
